FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 20, 2007 MISSOURI CONSERVATIVES LAUNCH NEWS SITE John Hancock, the former Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party, is leading a coalition of conservatives launching an alternative news website focused on state politics. The site, located at www.missouripulse.com, will offer news, commentary, and analysis from a conservative point of view. “We’ll provide investigative reporting, insight on current events, and an alternative perspective that is currently lacking in Missouri’s mainstream media,” said Hancock in the website’s inaugural post. “We hope to make this site a must-read for anyone interested in Missouri politics.” MissouriPulse.com will spotlight under-reported political issues involving statewide leaders and will also feature up-to-date polling data from Public Pulse Research. The site’s first news story analyses the results of a statewide survey testing a Rudy Giuliani-Hillary Clinton presidential election. Among the site’s other features: • A campaign finance database, which allows for public inspection of political donations made to gubernatorial candidate Jay Nixon. • A “…But Will It Play In Potosi” feature that examines the impact of Democrat decisions on mainstream Missourians. • A “They Said It” feature that highlights internal Democratic Party strife. “MissouriPulse.com’s launch comes at a time of increasing online grassroots participation and is seen by its creators as enabling conservatives around the state to learn the facts about Missouri politics,” Hancock said. “It is our hope that conservatives will have the information they need to hold accountable those who don’t truly represent the values of Missourians.”
